Background Information: The Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) has recommended a change to Board Policy #4.803 – Recognition of Religious Beliefs, Customs & Holidays. All students and staff members shall be tolerant of the views of others. Students and staff members shall be excused from participating in practices which are contrary to their religious beliefs. The Board’s current policy is included for your reference. Staff Recommendation: I recommend approval of the above-noted amendment to Board Policy #4.803 on the first reading. |
